Customers need to locate products/services before they can make consumer choices. For this reason, organizations need strategic wayfinding tools including easy-to-understand floorplans and wayfinding elements, icons and symbols, and proper lighting and effective signage. Pivot’s team works with industry principles surrounding wayfinding and accessibility to ensure that your organization’s customers and users have a positive yet efficient experience when they visit your space.

Pivot’s designers have experience in evaluating, creating and testing customer-focused wayfinding systems. Our team has worked with libraries, retailers, universities, offices, medical centres, airports and other businesses whose operations rely on the use of physical space.

Our Approach

To kick-off the discover phase, we invite key company stakeholders to participate in worksessions whose main purpose is to understand the core elements of your organization and the main goals of the environmental space your product and/or service will inhabit. We will conduct field research and observations with real people — existing customers, users, and/or stakeholders — in order to gain an understanding of their specific needs within the space. We can also create customer profiles and conduct experience walkthroughs. These processes allow us to gain practical, qualitative information that is used as design evidence in our iterative design phase. The iteration, prototyping and walkthroughs conducted in our design phase increase the success at launch for your product and/or service.
